England – Premier League

Venue: Amex Stadium (Brighton).

Match preview

While Graham Potter will remain disappointed that his side failed to build on their promising start to the campaign, Seagulls boss will be pleased with their last three performances in the Premier League.

Despite the setbacks the final against Aston Villa, has recorded home wins over Tottenham Hotspur and Everton both sides of that defeat, helped the club out of every problem immediately on the wrong end of the table.

There is arguably a touch of luck about their dramatic 3-2 success over the Toffees last weekend, although Potter would prefer to speak of the character of his players after they lost in similar circumstances the previous seven days.

The challenge for Brighton now is to avoid complacency every after seeing two sides of quality in front of their own supporters, but they will be the determination of the camp to get the three points with a trip to Manchester United, Liverpool and Arsenal all come December 5th.

As for Norwich, they must find a solution at both ends of the field after losing all momentum generated from their impressive victory over Manchester City in September.

While the 12 goals conceded in their last five games will be a big concern for Daniel Farke, he could not ignore that the only two attacks that his team has scored during the run that has come up with a match against Aston Villa and Manchester United already over as a contest.

Injuries have played their role in the lack of them since mid-September, despite the praise experienced in the hours and days after seeing off defending champion might just come too early in the season.

However, Farke have a responsibility to get the team back on track, and the German will expect a response from his players to remember that the stakes are relatively high heading into the match with the club which could emerge as a rival degradation later in the campaign.

Head-to-head

Given that it took until 1970 for both Norwich and Albion to go to the top, we have an opponent at all levels of the second and third year. There were 90 meetings to date with Brighton win 30, Norwich won 33 and 24 draws, makes things even. Most games come in the Third Division South, with the Canaries and Seagulls do battle for 14 seasons in a row between 1920 and 1934.

Prediction

For all the undoubted confidence that runs through the camp Albion, we still have not won back-to-back games under Potter. Play it safe, we'll predict a 1-1 draw.
