Aston Villa vs Burnley Match PREVIEW

Burnley should be happy with their start to the season and another point is backed coming their way when they visit Aston Villa.

Only Liverpool and Arsenal have got the better of Clarets in the Premier League so far and they are part of a group of teams that have gone into this weekend eight points in the table, at the likes of Tottenham, Manchester United and Chelsea.

We predicted the side of Sean Dyche would beat Norwich at home last weekend and they were on the road Burnley were the masters of the late drama - their two 1-1 draws away both have contained a deep equalizer in downtime, since for them and against.

Villa, meanwhile, are more difficult to weigh. This is their first campaign back in the top flight after an absence of three seasons and are third from bottom of the table but their performances, especially against the strongest teams, were perhaps more worthy points.

After conducting much of their away games at Tottenham and Arsenal with goals John McGinn before finally losing, and won 2-0 at home to Everton, if anything Villa looked more effective in most big games against the rank and file opposition.

This match certainly falls into the latter category and Burnley have been good grinding results on their travels this term, we believe it could end all square.

Aston Villa vs Burnley prediction

The hosts showed much promise in the comfort of their home and are unbeaten in their last two games running here. Moreover, the opposite side is still a taste of success on the road and have already stumbled once in one of their outings.

It must be said that the guests picked up a win over only once in their last four visits to this location, in addition to being at the losing end twice. Therefore, Aston Villa has got to be the favorites to come out on top this weekend.

However, Burnley have earned a point in each of their last two outings. Taking into account that Villa were held to a stalemate in their previous clash at home and safest punt should be a double chance to save either a draw or Villa to win.

In addition, visitors were clinical in the final third, and found the back of the net in each of their last three straight outings. Considering that two of their last three clashes in head to head also saw goals down each end, count on both teams to have their name on the scoresheet in the last whistle.
